Herbicide Exposure and Cancer in the Union Community
Updated On: Nov 14, 2019
The Hubbell Law Firm and Davis, Bethune, and Jones, both law firms that practice in FELA cases, worked together to develop a Newsletter to inform railroad workers on the hazards identified in the use of glyphosate-containing herbicides (like RoundUp) that Carriers commonly use for vegetation control along the right-of-way.
As MOW railroaders, we are at the greatest risk of exposure to the compounds present in these herbicides, and it's important to remain educated about their potential immediate and long-term effects. Take a moment to read this Newsletter and learn more about what health risks have been linked to glyphosate use.
For this and other concerns, BMWED has formed relationships with designated FELA law firms who can specialize in the unique legal environment that affects us as railroad workers. If you have questions or concerns about this or other matters related to your protection under the law, please reach out to your System office or contact one of these designated firms for a consultation.
