I regret to inform you that Brother Patrick Kershaw, retired member of Burlington System Division Lodge 961, passed away on July 11, 2022.

-OBITUARY-

Patrick E. Kershaw, age 64, of Sidney, NE passed away at his home with his family present on Monday, July 11, 2022.   Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, July 15, 2022, at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Sidney, NE with Pastor Chad Rademacher officiating.  Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney, NE.  Services will be recorded and available on our website for viewing. A memorial is being established for future designation.  Following the service there will be a lunch served at The Rock in Sidney.

Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Thursday from 1-6:00 P.M. to leave condolences for the family.    You may view Patrick’s Book of Memories, leave condolences, photos and stories at www.gehrigstittchapel.com.   

Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC is in charge of Patrick’s care and funeral arrangements.  

Patrick was born in North Platte, NE to Donald Kershaw and Barbara Baasch Henzl.  He married Janet Bauer on June 9, 1979 in Sidney, NE.  He worked for BNSF railroad as a machine operator for  39 ½ years until his retirement in January of 2018.

He loved camping, wood working and spending time with family and his numerous friends.

Patrick is survived by his wife, Janet, daughter Nicole Knoll and husband Todd, son, Adam Kershaw and wife Alyssa, grandchildren, MaKayla, Kennedy and Sawyer Knoll and Oliver and Jude Kershaw, siblings Debra Kershaw, Kelly Durbin and husband Ted, Jamie Hajny, and Mike Kershaw and wife Stevie.  Along with numerous friends, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by infant sons Jonathan and Christopher, parents Donald Kershaw and Barbara Henzl, parents-in-law John Jr. and Mary Bauer and sister Lianne Kershaw.
