    Brothers and Sisters,

    I regret to inform you that Brother Barry Buckwalter, retired member of Burlington System Division Lodge 2621, passed away on November 25, 2022.

    -OBITUARY-

    Barry Buckwalter, age 69, of Palmyra, MO passed away at 2:06 am Friday, November 25, 2022, at his home.

    Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at the United Pentecostal Church of Palmyra. Michael Miller and Robert Axton will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand View Burial Park.

    A visitation celebrating Barry's life will be held at 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday November 29, 2022, at the United Pentecostal Church of Palmyra.

    Barry was born on December 9, 1952, in Hannibal, MO the son of John and Mary (Sitton) Buckwalter.

    He was united in marriage to Carol (Axton) Buckwalter on May 15, 2004, in Palmyra, MO. Carol survives him in death.

     

    Survivors include Barry's Wife, Carol; Three Sons, Barry Ryan (Brittany Marie) Buckwalter of Bowling Green, MO, Jeffery Randall (Brette) Orr of Hannibal, MO, Nathaniel Ryan (Christina) Hayden of Palmyra, MO; Two Daughters, Sarah Kathleen McKinzie (Aaron) of Republic, MO, Linda Renee Martin (Phillip Jr) of Hannibal, MO; Brother, Kenneth Wayne Buckwalter of Akron, OH; Two Sisters, Sherry Lee Buckwalter of Palmyra, MO, Cindy Holmes of Palmyra, MO; Eight Granddaughters, Kaitlyn Buckwalter, Maygan Buckwalter, Logan Orr, Kegan Orr, Zaily Orr, Zyler Orr, Izzy Hayden, and Jaynee Martin; Five Grandsons, Blaydn Buckwalter, Coen McKinzie, Beau Hayden, Dillon Selleck, and Phillip Martin, III; .

    He was preceded in death by His Parents, John and Mary Ellen; and three Brothers, Carter Buckwalter, John Buckwalter, and Warren Buckwalter.

    Barry graduated from Palmyra High school and went immediately into the Army.

    Professionally Barry worked for General Mills as an operator until retirement.

    Barry was a member of the Palmyra VFW and attended the Gospel Lighthouse church.

    Barry was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to go hunting, fishing, hiking, searching for arrowheads, anything that took him into the great outdoors. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals, finding antiques, woodworking, and watching Real America's Voice to get the latest political insights. Barry was a giving guy who would give anyone the shirt off his back, and he loved his grandchildren the most!

    Memorial contributions may be made to the Quincy VA Clinic in care of Grand View Funeral Home.
