  • CP Updates its Face Covering Policy (2-3-21 Update)
    Posted On: Feb 03, 2021

On February 3rd, our System Office received an update on CP's Face Covering Policy affecting operators of CP vehicles. This update regards the wear of glasses while also wearing a mask, and how CP wants personnel to handle issues with their glasses fogging up while wearing a mask and operating an on-track or off-track vehicle.

The full document is attached with this article.

    *NEW*

Q: I am operating a CP vehicle or on and off track work equipment and my glasses required for vision correction (VC) fog up while wearing a face covering, what do I do?

A: Prior to operating a CP vehicle or on and off track work equipment, ensure your face covering fits properly (tight to nose and cheeks) to reduce the chance of your glasses (VC) fogging up. If while operating a vehicle and/or work equipment, your vision is hindered by your glasses (VC) fogging up due to wearing a face covering, stop your movement and immediately remove the face covering until clear vision is restored. If the face covering cannot be adjusted to prevent your glasses (VC) from fogging up, you may operate the vehicle or work equipment without wearing the face covering.
